We will be closing the main store for 10 weeks from January 1, 2011. This is a first for us but winter brings new opportunities. We have a new store in Florida and I will be devoting my full attention to growing our sales there, establishing multiple temporary locations and getting our pipeline of new goods from Asia filled up. We will be re-stocking from many suppliers of best selling items as well as bringing in a wide variety of new goods from newly sourced suppliers. As always, what you will find in the stores will not be the same old stuff everyone else has.
We will also be working hard to increase our online presence once and for all. This will include our main website (www.compassrosenc.com currently under development, look for us going live in the next few weeks. We will be increasing our Facebook activities as well. For the moment, you don't have to worry about any tweeting going on. However, I can read the handwriting on the wall and so, yeah, tweets will follow as we hone our social media skills.
Lets have some fun as we re-stock. Lets have some fun as we grow into our future!

Detail from Indonesian Wood Carving
I almost sold the bowsprit! I realized that if I sold it before I really documented it we would lose the graphic design elements forever. I can see clothing design, graphics in many forms. For the moment, enjoy. These are a few samples. I just cant seem to find the page break button here and so won't make the pictures too many for the moment. But there is more, the detail is 2 sided and 10 ft long.
Amazing Galleons and Men o War
These are a small sampling of the coolest ships ever. Working with these now as part of a wholesale order and shall also be able to add just enough so that my stores will be graced by these wonderful ships. These are fascinating and make the store a place that many guys end up loving, instead of just sitting in the car waiting.

Indonesian Antique Furniture
These are all original Indonesian antiques. Placed on consignment by a fellow traveler. If you have seen the TV show "American Pickers" where the antique buyers travel the US searching out collections in barns and such then you will understand. My friends Chris and Frank traveled the islands in Indonesia and bought stuff, from yards, from huts, from boats. The pieces we now have in the store range from hand carved bowsprits off of fishing boats to amazing doors taken straight off of village huts. The most amazing thing I have seen though is Chris's own house, he bought the front of a house, the whole thing, and incorporated it into his Outer Banks home. Now that's cool!
Welcome To Compass Rose!
We hope you like our new online presence.
We will feature our new products here as well as the sights, scenes and people that we deal with and meet while finding new items in Asia. This is also our online portal where our customers can not only look at our new stuff but also comment, or even request if what they wish to have is not shown. We can do custom shopping for you from a very small and personal scale to container size wholesale quantities.
We are preparing to grow not just online but also into two new permanent locations in Florida. We are currently having the best sale ever in our main Outer Banks store to help us grow. If you are close by come in and take advantage of incredible savings.
Check out our posts here for a look at new items which shall be arriving in the next weeks and months. You will also see complete lines that are available for not only wholesale interests but for individual orders as well. As new goods arrive here in the states we will update here and through Facebook. Again, Welcome!
Please leave us a comment, request, feedback, questions, and even complaints. We would like to know how to serve you better.
